Care Guide

Planting

Plant Canyon Duet Coral Bells in part shade with well-draining soil - it tolerates a wide variety of soil types, so don't fuss too much about amendments. Space plants about 12 inches apart since they stay compact at 0.5–1.0 feet tall. Spring is your best window for planting in the Bay Area, giving the plant time to establish before summer.

After Planting

Water moderately during the first growing season, keeping soil moist through summer to help establish a strong root system - you can back off once the plant is established in year two. This evergreen is extremely low-maintenance once settled; it requires no regular pruning and will handle our mild winters with ease. The most common mistake is overwatering, which these tough plants don't need and which can lead to root rot.
