Care Guide
Planting
Plant Western Dock in full sun where it can receive direct light throughout the day. This native perennial prefers wet conditions and tolerates salty soils, making it an excellent choice for areas that stay consistently moist or near coastal gardens. Space plants according to their mature size of 2–7 feet tall, giving them room to spread.
After Planting
Water regularly during the first growing season to help establish the plant in its preferred wet habitat. Once established, Western Dock should thrive with minimal intervention in its natural moisture-loving environment. Watch for it to die back seasonally as a perennial; this is normal dormancy behavior and the plant will regenerate in spring.
