Care Guide

Planting

Plant Sticky Calycadenia in full sun - this is non-negotiable for healthy growth. Since it's a native California annual, plant it in fall or early spring to align with the natural growing season. Space plants about 12 inches apart to allow room for the hairy stems to reach their full 2-foot height.

After Planting

Water regularly during the growing season to establish the plant, then taper off as it matures since it's adapted to California's dry conditions. This is an annual plant, so expect it to complete its life cycle in one season and set seed before dying back naturally - no pruning needed. The stickiness on the foliage and flower heads is natural and helps the plant thrive in hot, dry conditions, so don't try to wash it off.
